Ken,

My sister was in town on Monday, and wer talked about several of
these. I've been as careful as possible to send only "vetted"
information to the list.

As Fact Check says:

"In our original story, we incorrectly said that a few of the claims
we examine here were included in the e-mail by Anne Kilkenny. Only one
of the claims – about the librarian's firing – was _similar_ (emphasis
added) to an item in that e-mail"

Only one of the claims – about the librarian's firing – was similar to an item in that e-mail. We regret the error. We are sending this corrected summary and links to the story to all readers on our e-mail list. We also have revised the story's section dealing with accusations that Palin wanted to ban books from Wasilla's library to include more detail about what transpired at the time.

> She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.

> Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

Kendall

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.
