I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who runs a service dog
information service, Northwest Aide Dog Foundation. She has phone calls
EVERY DAY from businesses trying to find ways to keep disabled people out
of their stores, etc. They want to keep the Assistance Dogs out, but this
is ONLY the excuse to keep ANY disabled person out of their store. Many
believe we should be shut away in institutions, because we do NOT belong
out in the "real world". It's scary, and if something isn't done, the ADA
will be rewritten, taking our rights away as well.
