Amanda is a 12 year old girl who drives a power wheelchair (quickie p500)
with a joystick. Because the joystick itself is so bulky, she cannot drive
up close enough to a table in the kitchen or at school. If her joystick is
flipped out of the way, she can be manually pushed into place, but we are
looking to keep Amanda as independent as possible!
Have any of you come up to this same problem?
Does anyone know of a mini-joystick type idea that would be able to be
plugged into her regular joystick, so that when the big joystick is flipped
out of the way, she would be able to sneak up to the table surface using the
smaller joystick?
Any advice, comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks,
Deb
