great idea to contact the union - and you're right about the fire co - the firemen i;ve met have been good guys....i meant LA county as a whole seems huge.? the union is great though - i think this is a matter of finding the one person who understands and cares. i don't think it'll be truly resolved with the first few?phone calls.? i really, really appreciate your ideas.? thank you.

Actually LA Co fire is not bad. I would contact the local union and 
ask who attends the democratic state conventions or who is the 
political rep. They should help with this. When I used to attend that 
it was firefighters local 1014. I think but they would probably love 
to make this right. If not they would probably know who to contact. 
Access is an issue Democrats care about.
