baclofen is one drug that the side effects got to me, but, i think there are
folks on this list that have had very good results with the pump.

Subject: baclofen pump?

Hi,

I've been lurking here for about a year and I'm trying to come out of lurk
mode. My typing is slow so my posts may be sporadic, but I gain much from
knowing there are other cpers out there who deal with similar issues.
Thanks!

I'm considering the baclofen pump. I have athetoid/spastic quad cp and my
spasticity is increasing with age (I'm 38). I've done the gamut of vitamins,
muscle relaxants (they space me out big time), and hot showers, and haven' t
gotten any real relief without being a zombie. So.... I'm having a test
dose of interthical baclofen next week (a shot of baclofen in my spinal
fluid).

I'm wondering if any of you have experience with the pump, or have looked
into it and decided against it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pam

p.s. Mag - I also live in Oakland. Do you know about the Spasticity
Management Clinic at the Herrick campus of Alta Bates Hospital? The # is
204-4738 in case you're interested.
