I dont think I introduced myself before, so here goes. I have a 3y daughter
with mild spastic diplegia, complex partial seizures and sensory integration
dysfunction. We are big on fixing problems before they are really problems.
Currently looking into TES for her very low tone trunk. Her spasticity is
across her hips and lower back but her abdomen, chest and shoulder girdle is
VERY weak. She has started with what I call her pregnant lady stance, she
rocks her weight for ward on her hips and sways her shoulders back to keep
her balance. She also seems to have difficulty with bowel movelments, she
never seems aware of the urge(?) and definately does not bear down. I
suspect her bowels pushing is allthere is to it with out her bearing down.
All this seems to be a result of her increasingly weak trunk. We have done
extensive chest, abd, and breathing work for over a year with very little
results. So the next step to us and her therapists is TES. But have
discovered there are more fish in the sea than Mayatek, the most commonly
known provider of TES machines. My questions for you guys are, how do you
like it if doing it, how well did insurance pay(if they paid at all), and
were alternatives to Mayatek offered to you?

Thanks a million, Barb
