I would have to agree with everything Kat has said here. About braces and
walkers, they're getting easier to get because of greater demand for them
now days, I know a man who recently needed an AFO and he had access to one
within a day. About Cornerstone, if I were you, I would definitely put my
name down on their waiting list and when there's room, I would try it for at
least 3-6 months. If you don't like it, you can always move to another
place, but I wouldn't move back into your parent's because that wouldn't
solve anything.
Thanks,
Anthony

Sounds like your caretaker's sister's water broke and she's probably gone
into labour. So I'd cut her some slack on that, but the agency should have
sent someone in her place.
I know it's hard to stand and walk but the more you move about the better
off you'll be. Can't your doctor prescribe some aids like braces to support
your ankles and legs, or can you use a walker?
Sounds like you're between a rock and a hard place as far as the area you
live in goes. I can't believe you're the only disabled young person in your
area. Does your state have a central agency for helping disabled folks in
its capital? I live in North Carolina and the agencies are all centered in
Raleigh, our capital. I strongly suggest you write or call them to find out
how they can help you. And do it yourself. By taking the responsibility
and doing it yourself, you're empowering yourself and clearing the way to
make your own decisions. Use a search engine like google.com to find out
the web pages for your state's agencies and go there. You'll find loads of
information, I'm sure.
OK Cornerstone may not be the best way to go, but surely there are other
options, maybe not in your town but in your state.

(She told us this before.) Her excuse today was
something about her sister's water. Thanks for
your prayers. My CP is getting worse. When I
walk , I turn in my ankles. So I have to do more
standing and walking.
My case manager doesn't think I will be safe
staying alone. I don't have the money to hire
somebody 24 hours. I liked Cornerstone , but
they have a waiting list. I don't know if I
would like it permanently. If I moved there
permanently , there is no turning back , then I
will be forced in to an institution.
No , there's no accessible public transportation
in my town, that I know of. I'm the only person
with a disability in my town that I know of ,
that doesn't drive. I live in the country of a
rural area.
