you guys understand that i am not trying to make a case for war. i am just
stateing facts that i think exist. i have been looking at the protest on tv.
i don't see as many signs expressing much more than anti bush instead of pro
peace.

That's why I don't really have respect for those who say they know what
it's
like to be in battle and protest on that ground. No one really knows
what
it's like unless you've been there. My brother-in-law was in Vietnam and
is
as much against war as anyone I've met but he will not speak up against
it
out of loyalty to his fellow soldiers and I respect that.

I also agree that we have acted with remarkable restraint towards Iraq
and
North Korea but I am afraid if we don't let Bush know of our opposition,
he
will have free rein and the checks and balances in our government will
not
work in this case. However I am willing to admit he does seem willing
to
wait for the UN to pass a resolution before taking any action. However
even
the UN seems to be dragging its feet and so does the EU. I only wish
someone would come to any sort of resolution so we can move forward,
whether
it be to peace or war. At least it'd be better than this suspense.
This is
certainly dividing NATO, which is the last thing we need.
