I have been proposing for several years that the ICRI guidelines are a good
starting point for development of consensus standards for masonry repairs.
Some refinements and additions are needed, but we should not be throwing
the whole damn thing out and starting with Ouija boards. Copies of the
guidelines can be purchased from ICRI, and I am reluctant to recommend that
anyone judge it without having reviewed it in its entirety.
