John, yes, you have it correct. My TS-590S was 100% new, just out of the
box. I purchased it from R&L, and it was under warranty. I never used it. We
didn't discover it was defective until we put up my new double bazooka
Saturday morning and then, connected up the antenna only to find out it
would not transmit.

Like a lot of people, R&L must think that just because I'm blind that I am
also stupid. They insulted me to begin with by telling me to send the radio
back to them so they could put it up on their test bench to see if it really
was defective. This is after I described the symthems to them in detail,
including what I did to check it out, all of which I also described to all
of you.

Anyway, R&L Electronics located at
1315 Maple Ave., Hamilton, Ohio 45011

Better enjoy the money they have gotten from me in the past because they
will never see another dime from me in the future!!

Ron, K8HSY

Let me get this straight, the radio was under warranty? Did you use it at
all? Kenwood may even update the firmware for you before sending it back to
you and would probably support the store sending you the new version just
paying the difference in new price. The guy at R&L tried to screw you real
good as far as I'm concerned. That may not even be legal.
