Don:

I got my Rigrunner from Ham Radio Outlet, but I'm sure they are available
from the other major ham radio equipment stores as well, such s AES, R and L
Electronics, Universal Radio, etc..

Thanks as that was the ones was thinking about i.e. 30 amp ones and MFJ
sells a variety of them.
I thought the rig runner was a data terminal device not a power connection
device.
So is that one better than others and where can it be bought or purchased
at?
Thanks.

Don:

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to, but I use something called a
rig runner that uses Anderson power pole connections for my various pieces
of equipment here at the home QTH.

You can buy different models of the rig runner, depending on how many DC
power connections you want, and the amperage requirements of your various
pieces of gear.

The topic of Anderson Power Poles has come up on this list occasionally, and
opinions vary. But, I have found them to be extremely useful for connecting
and interchanging various pieces of equipment as needed.

The power poles themselves come in various sizes, but the most commonly-used
is the 30-amp variety.

The advantage of power poles, in my view, is that if they are assembled
correctly, you cannot reverse polarity, and risk damaging your equipment.

I have a really handy crimping tool purchased from West Mountain Radio which
is very useful for attaching the needed terminals to my various DC power
leads, and find that, as long as I carefully and properly label my power
leads before doing the assembly work, my efforts are usually very
successful.

Wondered if anyone has owned and or used any of the MFJ power pole devices
that they sell for adding extra connections to a single power supply as
think they said they were the Anderson power pole lines and how well do they
work as was thinking about buying one of them or something like it so can
connect more than one radio to my power supply.

Thanks.
