If you haven't used this program before, yo'll need to read from your 
radio to open a file.  If not, you'll have to select new for a new file. 
As far as the menu, I just took a look at my notes, and I think it is menu 
9.  The default is external mike, next is tnc and third choice is pc, 
which is what you want to program the radio.  I never use an externam mike 
on mine, so I just leave it set to pc.
