I tink the software is the same, but without downloading it, I don't know, 
or you could look at the date.  Anyhow, a couple things, to open an 
existing file, just use the alt for the menu and down arrow, or use 
control o for open and control n for new.  You'll also have to turn on the 
appropriate menu setting, I'd have to look where that is on your radio, I 
never change mine, it is something like external microphone change to 
data, not sure.  Do you have a serial port or are you using a usb to 
serial cable?  Mine is the original Kenwood serial cable.  I'm told sume 
usb cables work, and some do not.
