Hi Buddy;

Not only would it be heavy but, if it takes (D) or even (C) batteries that would really add to the weight.

That's why I don't have (D) batteries in my GE SuperRadio 2.

  I haven't seen one, but no--it's portable, but it's one of those
  so-called "portatop" receivers, which is to say, it can be carried
  (because it has a handle and runs on batteries), but is best left at
  home (because it's big and relatively heavy). At least, that's what
  the specs tell me. Kevin would be better able to comment.
