I don't know about the 102, but I can tune up my 101 easily with a tw1. 
It has been a long time since tube theory, but how would underloading harm 
the tubes?  I really don't think you would hurt anything, if you are 
loading to heavy, the dip is harder to find.  I never did get hands on a 
102, so don't know the radio.
