Okay, with out a stand I'd agree with you.  Easier to drop and looks 
stupid.  To prevent droping, shorten the connecting cable, a wire tie 
aught to do that.
Speaking as a person who has replaced SL39 connectors, mounted on a 
chassis, I'd rather deal with pigtail connectors.
I knew their were good reasons for not liking a separate head, thanks 
for helping me understand the objections.
