Hi Frank,

If my experience of the Elecraft KXPA100 translates to the KPA500, which I 
suspect it would. These are pretty good.

Of course, they interface best with Elecraft transceivers but can be used 
with others.

I've been driving my KXPA100 via the CW interface of the KX3, assisted by 
the computer and set up via the HamPod.

Of course, once set up, it largely looks after itself.
