Hi to all.

I tried this at the QTH that I was at 3 moves ago. It did work, but put
lots of RF in the shack on 160m. I took a SO-239 connector and soldered a
jumper between the outside of the conector and the center pin, then
soldered another piece of wire on the center pin that I ran back to the
single wire terminal on my tuner, and screwed the PL-259 from my G5rv into
this little shorted SO-239, and put a ground wire from a groundstake
outside my window to the ground terminal on the back of the tuner. I could
get the SWR to a manageable level, but if I wasn't careful, I could burn my
fingers on the controls on the transceiver! If I could get the feed point
away from the shack, I might go for a setup like this, but am of the belief
that RF radiating in the shack is probably risking my health, and it is a
risk I am no longer willing to take. Besides, those RF burns are like
grabbing the wrong end of a hornet!
