I fiddled around with the selector switches, took the batteries out and returned them to their holders, pressed the reset buttons, and so far, it is work for both indoors and outdoors.  I haven't seen it set itself with WWV as of yet but perhaps that takes awhile.  My atomic watch is working fine, too.
