Hi Bob,
 
I assume that the Dv2 software is speech-friendly.  This brings up another
question, how critical was tuning when you were attempting to do digital on
hf.  Was it a matter of tuning across a signal till things locked and audio
was decoded or did you know the frequency in advance and just go there and
the system locked on to the digital signal in question.
