Subject: Grants/Funding for Disability Programs

Hi Linda Lucas Walling;

I'm a librarian in Los Angeles at the Center for Nonprofit Management. Our
library is a cooperating collection of the Foundation Center in New York. I
received a request yesterday for information on directories and other
resources that could identify funding for programs and services to the
disabled. I have one book in my collection from 1995 specifically on
private sector funding for people with disabilities. I'm wondering if you
knew of additional resources for locating funding for nonprofit
organizations serving the disabled . Information from the Foundation
Center's grant guide to funding for the disabled is included in the FC
Search database which we already have. While the FC Search database has
over 500,000 grants listed, not many have proven fruitful in the area of
disabled services here in California. Any suggestions you could offer would
be appreciated.

You may have wondered how I came to contact you. I'm a graduate student at
San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science and our
director forwarded information on the Disabled Listserv to all the students
in our program. If you are not the correct person to contact for the
information I'm seeking, could you point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
Linda Brady, Librarian
Center for Nonprofit Management, Los Angeles
