Subj: W4A’16 Call for Papers - generous awards and scholarships

Dear Norman,

Save the dates April 11-13th 2016 for the 13th International Web for All Conference. W4A’16, will convene in Montreal, Canada, (http://www.w4a.info), co-located with the 25th International World Wide Web Conference (WWW’16). Deadline for all submissions is January 15th, 2016.

The 2016 theme is “Education for All on the Web” – including all learners and educators! Accessible online learning can level the field for people with disabilities and for anyone who learns a little differently, enabling them to better adapt their environment and participate at the same level as everyone else. It also opens doors for those who might not have access to learning opportunities in their local area. It promotes lifelong learning, with ready access to learning from anywhere, by anyone, at any time.

Come and listen to our distinguished keynote speakers:
•	Jutta Treviranus, Director of the Inclusive Design Research Centre, OCAD University
•	Jennison Asuncion, Co-Founder, Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Generous awards and scholarships are available from our sponsors. Intuit will award $2,000 and $1,000 to the best technical and communication papers. Google will sponsor the Doctoral Consortium; Intuit and Canvas will sponsor student participation in W4A. IBM will provide travel grants to the winners of the People with Disabilities Student Award. The Paciello Group will give out the Judges’ and Delegates’ awards to the winners of the Accessibility Challenge.

We invite you to submit your best work on improving and understanding access for people across the accessibility spectrum. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the following:
•	Accessibility challenges in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics on the Web.
•	Inclusive online arts and humanities learning.
•	Accessible MOOCs and Web-based learning tools.
•	Accessible multimedia including video, podcasts and slides.
•	Web programming and coding for everyone.
•	Web access to Big Data tools and data sources.
•	Learning analytics to support Web accessibility for online learners.
•	Personalized learning on the Web.
•	Advances in accessible mobile learning technologies.
•	Accessible Web maps and Web graphics.
•	Removing barriers to chemistry, statistics, and mathematics on the Web.
•	Access to online exhibitions and museums.
•	Web collaboration and knowledge sharing.
•	Barrier-free online synchronous and asynchronous communication.
•	Accessible and adaptive Web-based testing and assessment.
•	Accessible simulations, serious gaming, and role playing on the Web.

Submit 10-page technical or 4-page communication papers detailing engineering solutions and scientific insights into Web and Mobile technologies addressing diverse user needs. Submission of early work with promising results is encouraged. Submit 2-page extended abstracts to enter the Paciello Group Web Accessibility Challenge and the Google Doctoral Consortium competition.

Important dates: Midnight UTC-8 (PST)
Submissions: January 15
Rebuttals: February 5-12
Decisions: February 19
