I wouldn't use the word "cursed" - that might as well be the foundation of the problems faced by the 'black world' because there is little or no hope for the future if we believe we are cursed. Looking at the situation from a brighter side: we were born to withstand and survive any circumstances. God made no mistakes when He created black people :-)

One string that we are left to play with in any situation is our attitude. Charles Swindoll once said that "I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And as it is with you. We are in charge of our attitude."

I recall going through school back home, walking several miles daily and studying with lanterns at night (as did most Africans). Sitting here and watching how youths are being 'begged' to board a bus to school still baffles me. We have more problems back home where kids are more concerned with where their next meal is coming from.

Have a good and safe weekend.

- KC
