CITY OF
MADISON PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYMENT SEMINAR
(Hiring
for 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift positions)

• Are you looking for a job that involves rigorous, physical work?
• Do you enjoy a job that requires continuous lifting, bending, squatting,
climbing and reaching?
• Are you very reliable and will work in challenging weather conditions?

...Then come learn about the City of Madison’s temporary, seasonal positions by
attending the:

            Urban League of Greater Madison
2222 S. Park Street, Suite 200,
Madison, Wisconsin

Tuesday,
January 14, 2014, 1:30 pm

Representatives
from the City of Madison will provide a more in-depth introduction than
candidates typically get from the website or traditional recruitment channels.
Speak directly with Human Resource representatives! The City's HR team is
guaranteeing interviews to those who attend the seminar and apply the same
evening online, so this is a really good way for interested applicants to get
into City employment. Generally, HR uses random selection to decide who will
interview for these jobs, so attending would substantially increase someone’s
odds of being hired. As you may know, most of the city’s permanent jobs are
filled in streets and other public works divisions from the seasonal ranks; we
are hoping for a really good turn-out. Thanks for getting this information out
to your various circles!

Qualifications for Employment:
• At least 18 years of age
• Currently hold a valid driver’s license
• Able to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and lift objects up 100
pounds
• Knowledge of and the ability to use common hand tools and standard equipment
used in public works maintenance work.
