Hi Becky!
<Trusting that women are in a process that has its own timing and wisdom
is one of the most helpful qualities to come from loved ones>
I like your arguments. May I share a story that drives home your point,
I think? Years ago, I was in the Florida Keys, getting out of the
midday sun by enjoying a siesta at a local Cuban cafe. The owner was a
beautiful (and without instigating another earthshake, might I add
large) earthy mammacita, who was full of laughter and good jokes. I was
very noticably pregnant, so she gave me lots of nice extra attention.
She started telling me that her daughter, only a bride of 2 years was
extremely worried about her inability to get pregnant. She tried this
method, that method, she read this back, that book, this doctor, that,
but still - nada . . . .I listened attentively as she went on. Finally,
she bent over to look at me eye to eye and whispered in a thick Cubano
accent, which I only wish I could replicate on this post : "You know, I
tell my daughter, this thing . . . There are two places you must never
bring your head into - the kitchen and the bedroom. If she
follow this advice I give her, she will see - baby in no time. . . . . .
