Run the diagnostic file from here
(http://www.wdc.com/service/diagnostics.html). It will give you an error
code and contact information for returning the drive if it is still
under the three year warranty. However, if it's too sick to even run a
test, they will take it back and replace it (I've had this happen twice
recently...a couple of real clunkers).
