I usually make it with "Zante currants" available in the U.S. and maybe
there; they are actually tiny raisins (from tiny grapes, no doubt). They
give
a nice sweet flavor to the pemmican, which I prefer to the dried tart
cherries
I've also tried. If you can get dried blueberries which do not have sugar
and
assorted glop on them, they would be perfect too. Diced dried peaches
might also be nice, though non-traditional.
