Many people with disabilities have a big stake in the future of Social
Security: SSDI ... Work Incentives ... Eventual Retirement ...
Our voices must be heard in the growing debate on Social Security!
  Here's an opportunity.

Hans Riemer of The 2030 Center writes:

  2030 Center Action Team Training

  Dear Friends,

The 2030 Center, in collaboration with the US Student Association, has
created an exciting new opportunity for young leaders: a Social Security
advocacy training and lobby day in Washington, DC on October 22-25, 1999.

The Social Security (and Medicare) debate needs strong young voices!!
This training is one of our first steps in developing a national Action
Team of young advocates who can put pressure on political leaders to
address important issues facing our generation. The Action Team will
come together around a national campaign on strengthening Social Security

for future generations. This training will bring a select group of young

adults nationwide to learn from top policy experts and organizers about
how to win the Social Security debate -- to guarantee the solvency of the

Trust Fund and to stop privatization. The third day we will test our
skills by lobbying targeted members of Congress -- and then we'll take
the fight back home. All travel and conference costs will be provided
  for by the 2030 Center.

We are seeking young activists with proven leadership abilities. If you
know of anyone who may be qualified, please let them know that
application materials are available at www.2030.org, by emailing us at
[log in to unmask], or by calling us toll-free at 1 877 2030 ORG. Feel free
  to contact us with questions.

  Regards,
  Hans Riemer
  Director
