I've had lots of problems ....on a variety of different
machines.....particulary shutdown and exit to DOS problems. All of them
have been brand new format the drive and install upgrades.I received the
very first final full retail release directly from Microsoft prior to
public distribution and frankly I was astonished that they released it. I
have yet to install it with out some level of difficulty and some setups
have been extremely difficult to get installed. The legendary PC Magazine
columnist John C Dvorak wrote last spring that Windows source code had
become so bloated and patched that no one ...including Microsoft.....has a
handle on it. He wrote that MS is struggling to try and get it under
control and I remember thinking at the time that this was a bit strong.
........now I think he has understated the situation.
