We found the following while reading the latest issue of The Scout
Report (http://scout.cs.wisc.edu/report/sr/current/index.html).
This free weekly e-mail newsletter, produced by the folks at the
Internet Scout Project at the University of Wisconsin's Computer
Science Department (http://scout.cs.wisc.edu), features a wealth
of really useful Internet resources of particular interest to
the research and education community, and anyone else with an
interest in the Internet.

This issue introduced us to the Free Email Providers Guide
(FEPG) (http://www.fepg.net).

This is a robust, searchable database of some 1300 free e-mail
services in over 85 countries, with comments and comparisons
of the service features.

Even more impressive, there are also listings on other free
Internet communication services, including free ISPs, event
planning tools, instant messaging, Internet answering machines
and voicemail, Internet paging services. personal information
managers, file storage, online fax and phone calling tools,
and more.

Listings are viewable by category and location, or by
specific features, and there is a (free!) weekly e-mail
announcement distributed to interested users.

Please check out this resource!
