This one has me stumped. I installed two 32 meg memory
sticks, doublechecked to be sure they were seated firmly, and
turned on the computer. For awhile, everything ran fine. Then,
at boot, I started seeing "Memory Test Fail." The system would
pause and wait for me to Press F1 and continue or go into the
CMOS setup. The strange thing is that when the boot prcess
begins, the machine zips through and recognizes the available
memory. Then it checks my CD-ROM, etc. and THEN it comes
back with the Memory Test Fail message. After that, everything
runs fine! I've tried moving the memory sticks from one bank to
another but can't seem to stop this message from interrupting
the boot process. I have four memory banks, 2 with 8 simms
and two with the new 32 simms. When the computer boots, it
identifies the two 32s as EDO and the older ones as FP. I've
tried removing the 8's but that made no difference. Does
anyone have any suggetions?
