OK for CD Rom's the original transfer speed was about 150 Kilobytes/sec. the
4x,8x, 24x, etc. are 4x150, 8x150, etc.
I don't know what the original transer speed of DVD is I think its was
equivalant to either 16x CDROM or 24x CD rom I sure someone on the list will
know.
So when you see a DVD with the 8x/32x it meanis the speed is 8x the
original DVD transer speed/ 32 x the original CD ROM transer speed.
