Which I can't understand.

While that issue can be debated elsewhere, it is not relevant here, as meat
eating is part of Neanderthin by definition. It is unfortunately a standard
practice for people who are opposed to a particular point of view, to post
messages to newsgroups devoted to that point of view. However, a mailing list
is specifically designed to be free from advocates of the opposing point of
view. Certainly an atheist posting statements advocating atheism to a Christian
mailing list would quickly be unsubscribed.

Ray writes in Neanderthin:

"Meat is an important part of any healthy diet fed to a primate. Recent zoo
studies have shown that monkeys fail to thrive or reproduce successfully when
denied animal protein. For several thousand years man has, through
technological progress in the chemical manipulation and combining of vegetable
proteins, sought to eliminate the need for meat in the human diet. Despite
these technological advances, modern vegetarians still experience the symptoms
displayed by meat-starved captive monkeys."

PS Of course, honest questions on the subject are fine, as long as they are not
advocacy...
