When you say you are copying files I am assuming you are going to hook both
hard drives up to the same IDE cable and do a copy from the valid drive to
the corrupted drive.  Have you made sure that the valid drive is set to
Master, (or Master w/Salve), and the corrupt drive to Slave?  Your BIOS will
always try to boot from your Primary IDE Master.  If both are configured as
Master it will not be able to boot, or, if your corrupt drive is set to
master it will not find the valid files on the valid slave.
