I have seen a good description on mb installation at

    www.tyan.com

and at

    www.krex.com

The brass screws are not mounting screws, they are grounding
screws.  I believe that you should only need to use 1  when you
install a mb.  For the rest of the mounting support you should use
those @#$* plastic things that have knobs to slide into the case
and arrows to go thru the mb.  These loose mounts allow the
motherboard to expand and contract as it heats up, helping
to keep the board from flexing and having the ic's work loose
or a solder joint or trace break.
