In defense of Amadeus...

...the reason could be that "Neanderthin" is MEANT to be a guideline, and
not Holy Writ.

And frankly, I myself am starting to question the wisdom of the whole
concept -- at least, the growing tendency for many to treat it as an
all-or-nothing proposition.

I myself experimented with Neanderthin for awhile by totally excluding the
beans and rice that I formerly liked to eat.  I felt lousy.

Now I include small portions of beans/rice with just about every meal (no
more than a third of a cup combined) -- and I feel much better.

As they say,  the proof's in the pudding (or in this case, in the beans and
rice).
