  The BIOS setting is typically "Allocate IRQ to PCI video" or words
to that effect.  Disabling this BIOS option is worth considering.


  On the Matrox cards I've been using, I've so far identified three
cases where the IRQ may be needed:

1.  If hardware on the video card will be used to support MPEG
playback.

2.  If using some DirectX drivers with the video card.

3.  If the card drivers do bus-mastering.

  I'm not familiar enough with the Virge cards to know whether any of
these apply.
