Don't forget: If you want to connect external devices, you'll need a
special cable with an external connector, because you have only one
connector on the board.
If you upgrade you MoBo more often, than an external SCSI card is better,
because you can keep it.
The advantages are stated below.

  Until a year ago, I would have said no.  But in that last year,
I've built a whole lot of servers where the on-board Adaptec 7880
SCSI (same as AHA-2940UW) on board has saved both money and PCI
slots.  It's a winner.
  Some of the BX boards are including the 7895 (U2W) version now.
