Bought a 24x CD-ROM and got it working as slave on second port,
(replacement for 2x ide cdrom, installed new drivers) -- easy.
Since then, get HD failure (code 10, and maybe 20) on boot -- Sometimes.
Bios, jumpers, settings, driver, etc are all correct.
When in this "condition", HDs on pri port will not autodetect, and hd
controller
in win95 properties for pri port has yellow "!" (assuming it has not
frozen yet.)
I hear things spinning up, and down, but the new CD does that as part of
normal operation... I keep it empty now.
All HDs are less that two years old.
Could all these symptoms be strictly loose power cords?
     TIA Rick
