Years ago-well I'm not really that ancient-during summer breaks, I'd trip
around and work on farms for my summer income. This one farm raised
chickens. The chickens had a large outdoor enclosure which was concreted.
This was long before "organic" became in vogue. Every so often I'd have to
hose the area down. It made cleaning the coup and 'grounds' very easy and
that, I think, was why it was cemented.
