It does seem that there has been some evolutionary changes in
digestive-metabolic systems in the recent past. Guamanians have a well
known tendency to gain huge amounts of weight when they eat a modern,
American type diet. Certainly their ancesters adapted to a different diet
than people in other areas. And the Malaysian people have certain
idiosyncrasies about their teeth that came about presumably because of
diet. If there can be changes in teeth, why not enzymes and other
digestive changes?
