It is generally used by people with inflammatory bowel diseases. It does not
"cure". The people on it expect to remain on it.

That's because you didn't spelled it correctly. It has two t's (as in this
article's subject). It has been discussed on the list in the past.

If you want a broader experience there is a mailing list for the diet, which
is called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. To subscribe, send an email to
[log in to unmask] with nothing in the subject line. Then in the
message body, put the two words SUBSCRIBE scd followed by your own email
address. Then send it off. Your name will be added to the mailing list. To
e-mail to the list send to [log in to unmask]
