Jeny wrote ...we're getting ready to remove 90% of the milk
     in our children's diet.

     Hello All.

Like Jeny, I've decided to make my family milk and dairy free. Both
of my 2 pre-school kids have had plenty of ear and sinus infections
(both had 2 sets of ear tubes before their second birthdays). My
husband and I get every cold and infection the kids bring home. My 3
year old son is speech delayed, casein and wheat allergic and is
already dairy free. I have celiac disease. Having lived with these
diet restrictions already, it's not that big a step to extend dairy
free living to the rest of us. I mentioned my intention to our
pediatrician yesterday (my 4 year old daughter woke up Sat morning
with a 105 temp -- sure 'nuff -- left ear is infected and sinuses are
in pretty sad shape as well). The doctor thought it was a great idea
and is anxious to hear how it works for us.

Unlike Jeny, I'm planning to be as strict about the dairy free diet as
I can -- no yogurt or cheese for us for a while! I may lighten up
after a few months, but we need to get our heads (ears and sinuses)
     clear first!

I think this is a really positive move for us! It may not clear up
all of the colds, but maybe it will keep every one of them from
developing into an infection requiring days off from work and school
     and antibiotics.
