I received a "Presto Bread Slicing System" as a gift.  It comes with an
electric knife and sturdy  Plastic bread guide on which you place the
loaf of bread. Inserting the electric knife between the guides to slice
the bread results in equal size slices.  I've owned this one for over a
year.   I noticed that they were for sale around the holidays in most
major department stores similar to Macy's.
I believe the price is around $45. The electric knife is a terrific knife
and can be used for more than just bread slicing.
I think it's worth the price.
