WRONG - Stay gluten free - though how free has uncertainties.

This article probably quotes the 1983 paper by Holmes where they hadn't
gathered enough data (person years gluten free (except for residual in
wheat starch) and person years still eating gluten) to distinguish eating
from not eating gluten.

Holmes chapter in the Marsh book(1992) does further analysis of an 1989
article that does find the difference between these two celiac groups.

The oft quoted statement (Holmes 1989) about 5 years gluten free and your
cancer rate returns to that of the general population is technically
accurate but misleading. Scientifically all "measurements" have a numerical
error band about the quoted value. So here, the difference is said to be
zero but +/- how much? 10%, 20% of that for the general population???

Table 5.7 and related text in the Marsh book probably has the answer to
that as well certainly as the effects of eating some gluten. Anyone
familiar with that who'd like to wrestle with the apparent ambiguities
please e-mail me Perhaps we can report back to the list.
