Toaster *ovens* were made for those of us who have a mixed kitchen. The
rack the bread is placed on will not hold crumbs - everything falls
through to a tray on the bottom of the oven where it can be disposed of.
Dan and I have used the same toaster oven for our breads (my hubby has
"regular" bread, I'm GF) for many years, with nary a problem (except for
the night I toasted some tortillas a little *too* crisp, but that's
another story ;-) With a regular toaster, there's just too much chance
that some crumbs will get "smushed" into the wrong bread... Besides, if
you're really paranoid, a separate (wire) rack for the toaster oven takes
a lot less room than a second toaster...
