All are welcome to call in and participate, even if you're not from the
Philly area.

Hello. As a reminder, our next monthly phone meeting is scheduled for
Friday, October 28 at 8:00 PM Eastern time. All are welcome to call in
and participate or you are free to just listen. There is no scheduled
topic so it's an open forum, so to speak. There is likely plenty we
could talk about.

1. As of today, Microsoft made some major announcements concerning
upcoming hardware and software soon to be released. One of their
announcements concerned the next major update to Windows 10, which they
are calling the Creators Update. Sometime during the next week I will
try and post some information about upcoming features, when I can get
the time.

2. As of tomorrow (October 27), Apple is planning to announce some new
hardware, which will likely be new Mac computers. I have mixed feelings
about the Mac but there's a lot to like about it and many blind people
use it quite happily.

3. It is likely that JAWS 18 will be out by the time of our meeting. If
you're a JAWS user, I'll be curious as to whether you've downloaded and
installed the new version and what you think of it.

4. iOS 10.1 was released this week, with a few accessibility fixes. Come
to think of it, Apple released updates for all of their products: Mac,
Apple Watch and Apple TV. For those of you who are running any of these
latest versions I'd be curious as to what you think of them and whether
you notice any accessibility-specific improvements.

The number to call is

(712) 432-3900

Access code is 391477, followed by the pound key.

Take care.
