Hello Becky,

I don't know how. to solve your problem with your screenreader setup, but I have some ideas which might make things easier. I would ditch Internet Explorer and System Access, and replace them with NVDA and Firefox. System Access is a dead screenreader and NVDA is being updated all the time. NVDA is also free. The problem with Internet Explorer is that more and more websites and applications which use them aren't working with screenreaders. Internet Explorer is a dead browser because Microsoft wants everyone to use their new edge browser.

I hope this helps. If you try NVDA, a lot of the commands are like JAWS. There are some differences, but there are enough people out there who could help you. Firefox has many of the same screenreader commands and works with NVDA quite well. There are some Firefox commands which are different, but you might get help there too. I would also consider updating to Windows 10. It is easier to use with screenreaders, and that is where Microsoft is concentrating their accessibility support.

I hope this information helps.

Dan
