I agree that the Noise Bridge would be a good option here.

I guess I just hate to spend the roughly $100 on the unit if I can figure
out how to avoid it.

But then again, fried TS480 finals will be much more expensive to correct.

Hi Tom,

Everyone seems to think using an internal tuner and an external tuner
together is a bad idea.  I'm not knowledgeable enough to contradict that.
You were talking about gettings the MFJ noise bridge.  That's an excellent
way to adjust for minimum SWR.  I got one to use with my tube-type
amplifier, but am not using it since getting the ALS-600 and MFJ-998.  It
would sound like a perfect option for you in the RV.
