I don't know anyting about jaws, but I run window eyes and when I first
plugged in my 590, it defaulted to that card and I lost speech. I tell
window-eeyes to run on the specific card, in this case realtech and it
doesn't matter what the default card is. I tell each program to run on
the usb card.
